Paid Tuition vs. Tuition-Free
Phillips Academy is a new kind of school concept that connects parents with experienced educators, called Coaches. Each Phillips Academy Coach leads a small, private micro-classroom (either home-based or at a safe, approved location) in his/her community. In order to provide more flexibility and payment options for both parents and Coaches, we offer two pricing options: paid tuition and tuition-free.
As you decide which program option is the best for you and your family, we’d like to offer you a few helpful tips.
Think about the Bigger Picture
As you prepare to make a decision about our paid tuition vs. tuition-free microschools, try to keep all factors in mind. This includes costs, program features, location, and other important details.
For example, let’s say you find a Phillips Academy microschool with paid tuition in your immediate community. You may also find one of our tuition-free programs in a nearby town. You’d have to consider the daily fuel costs and extra travel time needed to commute to the tuition-free microschool. Also, what if the paid tuition program includes free meals and weekly field trips but the tuition-free program doesn’t (or vice versa)? Take some time to compare and contrast features, keeping the big picture in mind.
Ask Questions
We train our Phillips Academy Coaches to give you expert information about our
programs! This includes detailed information about tuition, materials, and additional
program fees. It’s important to inquire about all possible costs as some tuition-free
programs may require occasional fees for field trips, special classroom events, snacks,
etc. We also encourage you to ask for clarity about what’s included in each tuition
package. This is important because you may find that a paid tuition program offers more
inclusive perks than a tuition-free program. On the other hand, some tuition-free
microschools may have everything covered with no cost to you. Don’t hesitate to ask!
By the way, don’t worry about any unexpected costs at Phillips Academy. Our Coaches
will provide all tuition/fee information upfront at the time of enrollment and throughout
the duration of your child’s attendance. We’ll connect via phone, email, parent flyers,
etc. to keep you updated about any upcoming events or fees as needed.
